Radio buttons and check boxes not displaying their status

I am running CentOS 7.2 with a KDE desktop and some applications do not render their radio buttons and check boxes correctly. For example, if I toggle a check box from off to on, it still looks like it is off, although it is in fact on. A radio button group always displays all items as unset, although one of the group is selected (and there is no easy way to tell which one that is).

I've observed this behavior in a few applications, for example Virtual Machine Manager and Eclipse. Other applications, for example Geany, work fine. I've done a search on this issue and found lots of hits for things that sound similar but could find nothing that seems to match my specific situation. I tried changing my desktop theme and window appearance but this did not help.

Any advice on how to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Please help....

I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
